November 2, 2026 \u2013 Tampa General Hospital and the Health Care District of Palm Beach County hosted a town hall on Thursday, October 22, with key stakeholders, community leaders and residents of communities in The Glades. The two organizations shared the latest updates on their partnership to enhance rural health care at Lakeside Medical Center, including plans to open the Lakeside Cancer Center in September 2027. <\/p>\n

The new cancer treatment center will expand access to academic-based cancer care in Florida\u2019s rural communities. It will connect cancer patients in The Glades with world-class treatment, complex care coordination and access to oncology specialists.<\/p>\n
