A home that is the antithesis of a gray box is on the market in Winter Park.<\/p>\n

Listed at just under $3.5 million, the home at 1600 Legion Drive<\/a> is all about the details.<\/p>\n

This 4,483-square-foot home was completed in 2008 and has lots of brick, warm wood, coffered ceilings, double crown molding, beadboard, and more.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt has pine flooring throughout that was reclaimed wood from a bridge here in Florida, so the floors are not perfect,\u201d said listing agent Brian Teach<\/a> with Coldwell Banker Realty, who is selling the house for the second time. \u201cI sold this house when it was brand new 20 years ago to this couple, and the floors were rustic back then. They\u2019re even more rustic now. That\u2019s the charm of this particular house. It\u2019s supposed to be lived in and warm.\u201d<\/p>\n

The late Keith Field<\/a> was the builder, and this was one of the last homes he built before he died in 2012.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe understood the area and his homes kind of reflected that,\u201d Teach told GrowthSpotter. \u201cWhat made them unique was the millwork. He put a ton of attention into the details, the brickwork. As you walk through this house, the level of detail is not what you would typically see today.\u201d<\/p>\n

There are five bedrooms, five full bathrooms, and plenty of living space with a unique exterior.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt has that almost French Quarter feel to it with the balcony up and down in the front, the ironwork on the railing, the gas lanterns. It doesn\u2019t look like other property in the area, so I like that it is unique.\u201d<\/p>\n

The home sits on a corner lot that\u2019s a third of an acre.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s on a wide lot so it\u2019s got some space to it with the yard, so you don\u2019t feel like you\u2019re shoved in,\u201d he said, adding that new construction homes try to maximize the square footage by building the largest home possible on the lot. \u201c[That] feels very tight on the lot. This does not have that feeling. You\u2019ve got some space around you, front and back and to the side, which is nice.\u201d<\/p>\n

A long 45-foot lap pool is in the backyard near the outdoor kitchen.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis pool is unique in the sense that it is very long and linear, but that\u2019s what it was designed for. It was designed for laps.\u201d<\/p>\n

The landscape is manicured and maintained, and everything in the house is ready to go after a fresh coat of paint and a deep cleaning, but the buyer might want to do some personalization.<\/p>\n

\u201cMaybe somebody doesn\u2019t like the type of granite that is in the kitchen. One way to make that kitchen look completely different is to swap out those counters and do something different, but you don\u2019t need to,\u201d he said. \u201cYou change the granite, and now you\u2019ve got a completely different feel. A little bit there goes a long way.\u201d<\/p>\n

The sellers built a home just a few blocks away on the lake and said they were sorry to leave this house behind because of its location close to I-4 and Park Avenue, as well as great neighbors.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe people that surround the home in the neighborhood are A+. Everybody knows each other\u2019s names. They all know their pets\u2019 names, their kids\u2019 names,\u201d Teach explained, adding a story about arriving at the house one day and finding someone filling nail holes. \u201c[He said] \u2018We\u2019re just helping out; we\u2019re friends in the neighborhood.\u2019 That\u2019s really nice.\u201d<\/p>\n

Teach said this will make a great primary residence and acknowledged it might not appeal to someone looking for a modern and sleek home. While the buyer pool is limited a bit, those buyers are out there, as evidenced by someone who visited during a recent open house.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere was a couple from South Carolina, and they\u2019ve been looking for the past 60 days. They spent over an hour in the property, and all the details are what they connected with,\u201d he said. \u201cThey\u2019re like, we\u2019re so tired of walking into these open houses, and everything is super clean and crisp, but it doesn\u2019t feel warm. They loved the details, so it does take a buyer who appreciates it.\u201d<\/p>\n
