WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) \u2014 Florida\u2019s Chief Financial Officer, Blaise Ingoglia, says Florida\u2019s state government is giving more than $2 million to three Sheriff\u2019s Offices as reimbursement for immigration enforcement efforts.<\/p>\n
The Palm Beach County Sheriff\u2019s Office, the St. Lucie County Sheriff\u2019s Office, and the Indian River County Sheriff\u2019s Office were presented with checks during an event at PBSO headquarters on Thursday.<\/p>\n
In a speech before the check presentation, Ingoglia talked about Florida\u2019s tough stance on illegal immigration and pointed to a recent joint operation called \u201cOperation Dirtbag\u201d which rounded up 230 illegal immigrants. Ingoglia says many of them were sex offenders.<\/p>\n
