TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Nearly two months after being shot in the head, Ethan Pritchard<\/a> was all smiles as he rang a bell signaling his official discharge from Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital in Jacksonville. <\/p>\n

The true freshman Florida State linebacker from Sanford spent over a month recovering at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital before being moved to the rehabilitation center<\/a> to continue the next phase of his recovery. <\/p>\n

On Thursday, he left the center in a motorized wheelchair to the sound of roaring applause and triumphant whoops from hospital staff and family members. <\/p>\n

Florida State Seminoles cheered as football player Ethan Pritchard was released from the hospital after being shot in Havana in August. \ud83d\udcfd\ufe0f: Montrail Harris<\/p>\n

WCTV spoke with Ethan\u2019s father, Earl Pritchard, over the phone on Thursday afternoon. He said his son is grateful for the community support as he continues on his recovery. <\/a><\/p>\n

Pritchard\u2019s release from rehab comes a little over two months after his car was ambushed by a spray of gunfire<\/a> while driving two family members, including a 3-year-old, home from a cookout.<\/p>\n

\u201cMost of the windshield was missing and several bullet holes could be seen across the vehicle,\u201d according to court records. The investigation revealed that \u201cthere was possibly a total of four firearms used in this shooting.\u201d<\/p>\n

Since the shooting, four people have been arrested in connection with the incident. <\/p>\n

\"AllAll four suspects have been ordered not to be released on bond, according the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.(Florida Department of Law Enforcement)<\/p>\n

According to the Gadsden County Sheriff\u2019s Office, the same suspects were believed to be involved in another shooting in Havana just five days prior.<\/p>\n
