Republican Florida lawmaker Meg Weinberger has proposed legislation to rename Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) in honor of President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n
Weinberger is a state representative for District 94. On X (formerly Twitter), November 3, the lawmaker shared that she\u2019s formally proposed renaming her local flight hub to Donald J. Trump International Airport.<\/p>\n

A tribute to his extraordinary leadership and hometown roots.\u201d<\/p>\n Notably, Trump was born in and is from New York City\u2019s Queens borough.<\/p>\n What Else Is There To Know About Meg Weinberger\u2019s Proposal To Rename Palm Beach International Airport?<\/p>\n U.S. airports named after presidents aren\u2019t anything new. The most well-known is arguably New York City\u2019s John F. Kennedy International Airport<\/a> (JFK), which is one of the country\u2019s busiest. Many may not know that the airport was originally named New York International Airport, though travelers commonly called it Idlewild. However, after President Kennedy\u2019s assassination in November 1963, the airport was renamed in his honor later that year. Other busy U.S. airports named after presidents are Houston\u2019s George Bush Intercontinental Airport<\/a> (IAH) and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA).<\/p>\n Weinberger is<\/a> a resident of Palm Beach Gardens who\u2019s been living in Florida since 1979. She has been a member of the state\u2019s House of Representatives since early November 2024. In June of that year, Trump reportedly took<\/a> to Truth Social and endorsed Weinberger\u2019s candidacy, referring to her as \u201cMAGA Meg.\u201d<\/p>\n Earlier this year, Weinberger co-introduced legislation that called for a four-mile stretch in Palm Beach County to be designated \u201cPresident Donald J.
