LAUDERHILL, Fla. \u2014 A man was hospitalized Wednesday morning after he was stabbed by his roommate in Lauderhill, police said.<\/p>\n
According to Lauderhill police, the incident was reported shortly before 4:30 a.m. in the 2600 block of Northwest 44th Terrace.<\/p>\n
Police said the victim and his other roommates called 911 after the stabbing.<\/p>\n
When police arrived, they found the victim, identified only as a 30-year-old Black man, in the front yard, suffering from a stab wound to the chest.<\/p>\n
First responders transported the victim to Broward Health Medical Center. Police said he was conscious and breathing at the time.<\/p>\n
All the roommates living at what police call a group home housing five or six people, were ordered out by police.<\/p>\n
Police confirmed that the suspect was detained at the scene.<\/p>\n
He was identified by police only as a 50-year-old Black man.<\/p>\n
Local 10 News was at the scene as the suspect was placed in handcuffs.<\/p>\n
Police said it appears the men got into some kind of a fight that led to the stabbing, but they\u2019re still investigating why they were fighting and how it escalated. <\/p>\n
Police said there was blood throughout the house after the stabbing. <\/p>\n
Officers at the scene are in the process of interviewing the other residents and gathering evidence. <\/p>\n
The victim\u2019s condition has not yet been released.<\/p>\n
