(WTVD) &#8212; The death of <a class=\"zZygg UbGlr iFzkS qdXbA WCDhQ DbOXS tqUtK GpWVU iJYzE \" data-testid=\"prism-linkbase\" href=\"https:\/\/abc11.com\/post\/body-missing-nc-teen-giovanni-pelletier-found-florida-retention-pond-authorities-confirm\/17537102\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">18-year-old Giovanni Pelletier<\/a> has been ruled an accidental drowning.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">The <a class=\"zZygg UbGlr iFzkS qdXbA WCDhQ DbOXS tqUtK GpWVU iJYzE \" data-testid=\"prism-linkbase\" href=\"https:\/\/abc11.com\/post\/giovanni-pelletier-body-found-pond-area-where-missing-nc-18-year-old-was-last-seen-florida-deputies\/17477574\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Wake County teen<\/a> was on vacation when he went missing in Florida back in August.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">His body was later found in a retention pond.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">A Florida medical examiner made the ruling of an <a class=\"zZygg UbGlr iFzkS qdXbA WCDhQ DbOXS tqUtK GpWVU iJYzE \" data-testid=\"prism-linkbase\" href=\"https:\/\/abc11.com\/post\/giovanni-pelletier-family-nc-teen-was-found-dead-florida-calls-fbi-involvement\/17516250\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">accidental drowning<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">The autopsy did highlight a rare heart defect, but the medical examiner could not say if that played a role in his death.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC eTIW sUzSN \">Officials say there is no evidence of trauma or injury and foul play is not suspected.<br class=\" \"\/><\/p>\n<p>Copyright \u00a9 2025 WTVD-TV.
