PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) \u2014 A brush fire tore through five acres of brush in Port St. Lucie on Monday, sending firefighters to defend nearby homes and battle a blaze that refused to quit overnight. <\/p>\n
The St. Lucie County Fire District (SLCFD) said at around 10:30 a.m. on Monday, its firefighters responded to a five-acre brush fire near 7600 Silver Oak by Tilton.<\/p>\n

The SLCFD said with limited access, its firefighters were able to protect two structures from damage. Unfortunately, a car and a boat were lost in the blaze.<\/p>\n
