The Miami Dolphins had a tougher time of disposing of the Washington Commanders on Sunday than many fans would have liked after they had trounced the Buffalo Bills by seventeen points just a week prior. However, if you\u2019re a true fan of football, you know that wins don\u2019t often come easy in the National Football League, especially for our Dolphins.<\/p>\n
However, the team now gets a bye week to reflect on their first eleven games in 2025, while preparing for the final six. That\u2019s right. Only six more games to go \u2014 unless they can somehow defeat all of their remaining opponents while getting some help in the form of losses by AFC teams ahead of them in the standings in order to make the postseason. It\u2019s highly, highly unlikely that those things happen, but there\u2019s a chance \u2014 albeit a slim one.<\/p>\n
Anyway, back to this past Sunday\u2019s clash \u2014 and back to commending one of Miami\u2019s best performers by awarding him the MVP (Most Valuable \u2018Phin) award.<\/p>\n
First, let me state that it was so tempting to give this award to cornerback Jack Jones. After all, without his interception on the second offensive play of overtime, we might be lamenting another missed opportunity for Miami all throughout the bye week.<\/p>\n
However, one defensive player\u2019s stellar game cannot go unnoticed, and that\u2019s why Jordyn Brooks wins this week\u2019s MVP award.<\/p>\n
Brooks finished Sunday\u2019s game against Washington with twenty tackles \u2014 TWENTY TACKLES!<\/p>\n
That mark is just four tackles shy of the single game record (held jointly by David Harris of the New York Jets and Luke Kuechly of the Carolina Panthers). No player in the National Football League has had more tackles in a single game this season. Furthermore, no player has more tackles overall in 2025 than Brooks\u2019 125 takedowns. Bobby Wagner of the Commanders is a distant second with 107.<\/p>\n
In a season filled with disappointments, Jordyn Brooks has been a consistent bright spot for the Dolphins in 2025.<\/p>\n
