TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Leon County Commissioner Rick Minor filed paperwork to run for reelection last week.<\/p>\n
Minor, who was elected to the commission in August 2018, represents Leon County District 3. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe neighbors of District 3 and I are working hand-in-hand. We\u2019re making real progress and the results are clear. Our partnership is moving District 3 in the right direction, and I\u2019m proud of that. I have the skills and experience necessary to get things done, and I\u2019d be honored to continue serving the people of Leon County in this role,\u201d Minor said in a statement. <\/p>\n
According to the Leon County Commission website, Minor\u2019s focuses are reducing crime, growing the economy, and protecting the environment.<\/p>\n
Currently, Minor faces one opponent, Charles \u201cC.B.\u201d Lorch. <\/p>\n
Lorch is a local videographer and owner of Evolution Media, Inc. <\/p>\n
In a statement to WCTV, Lorch said his experience is something the community needs.<\/p>\n
\u201cSince the day Rick [Minor] arrived in Tallahassee, his goal has been to be an elected official, so there was never a reason to expect he wouldn\u2019t run again,\u201d Lorch said. \u201cBut what our community needs isn\u2019t more politicians, it\u2019s more people with real experience who are willing to step up and serve.\u201d<\/p>\n
