TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (CBS12) \u2014 A man is in custody after Florida police say he was involved in an unusual crime spree involving a stolen forklift and an ATM. <\/p>\n
The Tallahassee Police Department said early Monday morning that the suspect took both items on a joyride through town before attempting to flee from officers. <\/p>\n
Home surveillance video and bodycam footage show the forklift driving down a residential road.<\/p>\n
“What’s up bro?” The officer asked the man. “What y’all got going on?”<\/p>\n
“I dropped this thing over here,” the man said, pointing to the front of the forklift before sprinting off. <\/p>\n
After a brief chase, the man was safely apprehended without any reported injuries, according to the police department. <\/p>\n
During a subsequent search of the area, officers recovered clothing items and burglary tools believed to be connected to the incident.<\/p>\n
