VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. \u2013 New self-service car registration kiosks opened Wednesday at four Publix locations in Volusia County.<\/p>\n
The kiosks will be available every day, \u201cduring extended store hours and without waiting in line.\u201d<\/p>\n
The new kiosks are located at:<\/p>\n
Port Orange \u2013 3821 S. Nova Road<\/p>\n
Ormond Beach \u2013 1258 Ocean Shore Blvd.<\/p>\n
DeLand \u2013 299 E. International Speedway Blvd.<\/p>\n
Edgewater \u2013 2970 S. Ridgewood Ave.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese kiosks give our customers more flexibility and help reduce wait times in our branches,\u201d tax collector Will Roberts said in a release. \u201cIf you\u2019re already at the store, you can take care of a simple renewal on your own schedule and be on your way in minutes.\u201d<\/p>\n
If you\u2019re renewing your vehicle registration, here\u2019s what you need to bring:<\/p>\n
The renewal notice with the PIN, or<\/p>\n
The license plate number and the date of birth of the first registered owner<\/p>\n
A credit card for payment (kiosks accept credit cards only; no cash or checks)<\/p>\n
The new registration and decal should print instantly.<\/p>\n
The kiosks cannot process renewals for:<\/p>\n
Boats<\/p>\n
Mobile homes<\/p>\n
Government vehicles<\/p>\n
IRP (International Registration Plan) vehicles<\/p>\n
Personalized plates<\/p>\n
Autonomous vehicles<\/p>\n
National Guard plates<\/p>\n
Parking permits or disability placards<\/p>\n
For each renewal, there is a $4.50 service fee along with a 2.3% credit card fee.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese fees are collected by the vendor that operates and maintains the kiosk system \u2013 not by the Tax Collector\u2019s Office. They help cover the cost of providing this fast, self-service option in convenient retail locations,\u201d a release states.<\/p>\n
