authorities short on leads<\/a> to follow, the families of Ramirez and Contreras are desperate for answers, making an emotional plea to the public in their search for justice.<\/p>\nRamirez\u2019s mother was overcome with emotion as she begged in Spanish for the public\u2019s help in finding her son\u2019s killer.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor too long, the person or the persons responsible for this have been walking free while the families are the ones that have been suffering all along,\u201d said Hialeah police Lieutenant Eddie Rodriguez.<\/p>\n
The unit they were killed in was being rented by Ramirez.<\/p>\n
\u201cSince then, we haven\u2019t been the same,\u201d said Oscar Contreras, Cristian\u2019s brother.<\/p>\n
The families said the pair were the best of friends, full of life, as they worked together as barbers at the Billionaire Barber shop to chase their dreams.<\/p>\n
\u201cI used to tell them every single time, \u2018Hey, I\u2019m proud of what you\u2019re doing, you\u2019re pursuing something that you love. Just remain humble,\u2019 always used to give them advice, he used to listen to me,\u201d said Oscar.<\/p>\n
Two lives taken far too soon, ripping apart two families.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe meant the world to me,\u201d said Oscar.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe was like a big brother. He was a really good friend, he was a friend that, like, if you were friends with him, he would motivate you to do better,\u201d said Ethan, Kevin\u2019s cousin.<\/p>\n
Both families say they will never be able to start healing until whoever is responsible has been arrested.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s my life in this moment, I die in life,\u201d said Kevin\u2019s mother.<\/p>\n
