SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – I\u2019m sure you\u2019ve noticed it the moment you step outside. The air just feels different, lighter, cleaner, and honestly kind of perfect. <\/p>\n

Here\u2019s why: dew points have dropped, which is just a fancy way of saying the air isn\u2019t holding as much moisture. Think of it like this\u2026 in summer, Florida air is like a wet sponge that never got wrung out. <\/p>\n

Right now, that sponge has finally been squeezed. <\/p>\n

When the air dries out, your skin doesn\u2019t feel sticky, your hair behaves (miracle), and the atmosphere actually cools off at night. <\/p>\n

That\u2019s why mornings feel crisp and fresh, with overnight lows dipping into the mid to upper 60s inland and near 70 along the coast. <\/p>\n

It\u2019s Florida\u2019s version of fall, what I call \u2018baby fall\u2019. It\u2019s the kind of air that makes you want to leave the windows open (or at least pretend your AC is off), and not a single drop of swamp-air in sight.<\/p>\n

Sunshine and a breeze<\/p>\n

We continue to be behind a weak front that is sliding south, and high pressure continues building in behind it. That means plenty of sunshine through the rest of the week. A northeast breeze will kick in, gusty at times Thursday and Friday, giving it that just-a-hint-of-fall feeling we are happy to have in Florida.<\/p>\n

Saturday looks beautiful, sunny, breezy, and warm. Sunday brings the next weak front, and with it a slight chance of a stray shower or isolated thunderstorm, but most spots will stay dry. It\u2019s more of a mood shift than a major pattern change.<\/p>\n

Next week\u2019s outlook<\/p>\n

After Sunday, high pressure builds back in. That means more dry weather, more sunshine, and seasonable temps through midweek. Highs hold in the mid to upper 80s, with warm afternoons but refreshingly mild mornings.<\/p>\n

Boating forecast<\/p>\n

Northeast winds will increase behind the front, with some periods of exercise caution conditions through Saturday. Seas 2\u20134 feet offshore, 1\u20132 nearshore. The breeze backs off a little Sunday as the next front approaches. A few isolated showers are possible Sunday night, but otherwise the Gulf will stay mostly quiet.<\/p>\n

Early risers, take note: those crisp mornings and calmer early-day winds will make for some of the best sunrise boating weather of the month.<\/p>\n

Tropical Storm Lorenzo is spinning out in the central Atlantic, about 1,300 miles west-northwest of the Cabo Verde Islands. It\u2019s moving northeast and is expected to dissipate within 24 hours, no threat to Florida or any land areas.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, the tropics are quiet. No new development is expected in the Atlantic basin over the next 7 days.<\/p>\n

Sky show tonight<\/p>\n

Clear skies mean a perfect view overhead. Look east after sunset and you\u2019ll see a bright crescent Moon and brilliant Jupiter shining above it. No telescope needed, just a clear view and a few minutes to slow down and take it in.<\/p>\n

With the humidity dialed down, the air is extra clear at night and early morning. It\u2019s the kind of sky that makes stargazing feel a little more magical.<\/p>\n

The bottom line<\/p>\n

Florida\u2019s \u201cbaby fall\u201d is in full swing, plenty of sun, lower humidity, and comfy mornings. A weak front Sunday brings only a tiny chance of a few showers, then it\u2019s back to dry and beautiful through next week.<\/p>\n
