{"id":55677,"date":"2025-11-21T17:39:37","date_gmt":"2025-11-21T17:39:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/55677\/"},"modified":"2025-11-21T17:39:37","modified_gmt":"2025-11-21T17:39:37","slug":"davie-man-jailed-after-repair-shop-worker-finds-child-sexual-abuse-images-on-ipad-cops-say","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/55677\/","title":{"rendered":"Davie man jailed after repair shop worker finds child sexual abuse images on iPad, cops say"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph\">DAVIE, Fla. \u2014 A Davie man is facing more than a dozen felony charges after an employee of a tech repair shop made a disturbing discovery on the 51-year-old\u2019s tablet, leading investigators to find thousands of images depicting child sexual abuse, according to arrest documents obtained by Local 10 News on Friday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.local10.com\/espanol\/2025\/11\/21\/encarcelan-a-hombre-de-davie-luego-de-que-empleado-de-taller-de-reparacion-encontrara-imagenes-de-abuso-sexual-infantil-en-ipad-segun-la-policia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.local10.com\/espanol\/2025\/11\/21\/encarcelan-a-hombre-de-davie-luego-de-que-empleado-de-taller-de-reparacion-encontrara-imagenes-de-abuso-sexual-infantil-en-ipad-segun-la-policia\/\">Leer en espa\u00f1ol<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">According to the Davie Police Department, William Alton Moon III dropped off his iPad Pro on Nov. 9 at the uBreakiFix store at 6021 Stirling Road, asking that it be repaired due to water damage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">During tests of the device\u2019s functions, an employee opened the camera app, police said. She found a preview picture of what \u201cappeared to be a very young girl, completely naked,\u201d an arrest report states.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">It states she opened the Photos app \u201cand discovered numerous photos of children completely naked,\u201d leading her to call DPD.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Police said the worker showed an officer the Photos app, which contained 100 photos of young girls aged 5 to 12. Investigators said a search warrant revealed more than 26,000 photos in his gallery, the \u201cmajority\u201d of which depicted child sexual abuse or \u201cchild erotica.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Some of the images appeared to be AI-generated, investigators said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Police said they served a search warrant on Tuesday at Moon\u2019s home in the 7700 block of Northwest 31st Street.
