BITHLO, Fla. \u2013 An Orlando man was killed in a hit-and-run crash Thursday night in Bithlo, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.<\/p>\n
The wreck occurred around 9 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of State Road 50 at Lansing Street, troopers said.<\/p>\n
According to an FHP crash report, the right rear of a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado that troopers said was traveling north on Lansing Street collided with the left side of a 2012 Toyota Highlander that was traveling east on S.R. 50, causing the Highlander to rotate and eject the 48-year-old Orlando man driving it.<\/p>\n
A 2014 Nissan Rogue traveling east in the outside lane struck a large crate that fell from the Chevrolet and an unknown fourth vehicle traveling east in the inside lane struck the Orlando man lying in the street, the report states.<\/p>\n
The unknown vehicle took off and the man was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said, adding the driver of the Chevrolet \u2014 identified as a 54-year-old Orlando man \u2014 was hospitalized for treatment of minor injuries. The 24-year-old Mims man driving the Nissan was not injured and remained at the scene, according to FHP.<\/p>\n

FHP is still investigating.<\/p>\n
