Court documents reveal the victim\u2019s brother helps the 82-year-old woman manage her finances.<\/p>\n
He noticed a long list of abnormal charges on her Costco credit card \u2014 charges the victim says she did not make.<\/p>\n
Investigators say that from July 22 to Aug. 19, there were more than $2,600 in unauthorized purchases \u2014 far more than the $200 to $300 typically charged on the card.<\/p>\n
Hasnali is accused of shopping in Plantation, Margate, Sunrise, Tamarac and Coral Springs.<\/p>\n
Investigators said the case was initially handled by the Plantation Police Department, but the report also notes Coral Springs Police Department are conducting a separate investigation involving allegations related to the same victim. <\/p>\n
Hasnali has no prior criminal history, according to officials.<\/p>\n
Home Care Villas told Local 10 they are cooperating fully with those involved in the investigation. <\/p>\n
In a statement, the facility said: \u201cDuring this employee\u2019s tenure with our facility, we have never observed or been made aware of any unethical behavior. We will allow the justice system to proceed as intended and will not be providing further comment at this time.\u201d<\/p>\n
A judge set Hasnali\u2019s bond at more than $50,000. She was ordered to have no contact with the victim and is barred from working with elderly or disabled adults in any capacity while the case moves forward.<\/p>\n
She remains at the Broward Main Jail as of Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n
