ORLANDO, Fla. \u2014 Orange<\/a>–Osceola<\/a> State Attorney Monique Worrell has sent a letter to Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier, demanding he \u201cstop trying to manufacture a pretext for my removal.\u201d<\/p>\n

Worrell\u2019s letter responds to Uthmeier\u2019s criticism, who accused her of being lenient on crime. In her reply, Worrell urges Uthmeier and Governor Ron DeSantis to \u201cstop ongoing interference\u201d in her office, accusing them of politicizing the issue and misrepresenting her track record.<\/p>\n

Worrell\u2019s letter directly addresses Uthmeier\u2019s criticisms, stating, \u201cstop trying to manufacture a pretext for my removal.\u201d<\/p>\n

In 2023, Governor Ron DeSantis suspended Monique Worrell, citing incompetence and neglect of duties. He appointed Andrew Bain as her interim replacement. <\/p>\n

Nonetheless, Worrell won the election last November, defeating Bain, and resumed her position earlier this year.<\/p>\n

The office of Attorney General James Uthmeier responded to Worrell\u2019s letter, stating that the issues raised are not true.<\/p>\n
