The impact appeared to dislodge Shamet\u2019s shoulder from its socket, sending the 28-year-old darting to the locker room while holding his arm.<\/p>\n
He was ruled out by the Knicks with a right shoulder injury.<\/p>\n
During preseason a little more than a year ago, Shamet suffered the initial injury to his shooting shoulder but opted to rehab instead of surgery. <\/p>\n
He returned in December and played the remainder of last season with the Knicks, then emerged this campaign as an important part of the rotation \u2014 even starting six games because of injuries.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Dislocated shoulders are susceptible to re-injury without surgery, which would\u2019ve likely sidelined Shamet for six months.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Shamet is playing this season on a deal that won\u2019t become fully guaranteed until January.<\/p>\n
