The Boston Celtics improved to 9-8 on the season so far with a 138-129 victory over the visiting Orlando Magic<\/a> at TD Garden on Sunday (Nov. 23) evening. Huge scoring outbursts from Boston’s bench players were instrumental in securing the win, with three reserve players (Sam Hauser, 14 points, Josh Minott, 16 points, and Anfernee Simons, 23 points) scoring in double figures.<\/p>\n

Despite losing the battle of the boards 44-37, the Celtics opened up as much as a 26-point lead, only to see the Magic storm back in the game’s final frame as Orlando’s deep bench started to get hot. Ultimately the Magic just did not have enough healthy bodies to take on Boston, the Celtics holding them off for the win.<\/p>\n
