JACKSONVILLE, Ill. (WAND) \u2014 The city of Jacksonville issued a boil order Sunday night after a “disruption in the water system.”<\/p>\n

According to the city, all properties within the city limits located on Westgate Avenue and all areas west of Westgate Avenue are under a boil order effective immediately.<\/p>\n

The city said it is a precautionary measure due to a disruption in their water system.<\/p>\n

Affected residents and businesses are advised to boil tap water for at least one minute before drinking, cooking, or brushing teeth, and use bottled water if boiling is not possible.<\/p>\n

The boil order will be in effect until water quality testing confirms the system is safe. The city said it will issue an update when the order is lifted.<\/p>\n
