TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A new face is shaking up the race for Florida governor.<\/p>\n
Republican investor James Fishback has officially entered the 2026 race.<\/p>\n
He\u2019s promising a bold affordability platform focused on housing costs, wages and immigration.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m running for Florida Governor to make life more affordable for you and your family,\u201d says Fishback. \u201cHardworking Floridians should be able to buy a home, raise a family, and retire with dignity.\u201d<\/p>\n
Fishback positions himself as a conservative outsider, pledging to make life more affordable for Floridians.<\/p>\n
His affordability platform includes stopping the \u201creplacement of American workers with H-1B foreigners, so Floridians can get great-paying jobs again,\u201d and abolishing property taxes. <\/p>\n
According to his campaign profile, Fishback is a fourth-generation Floridian and is the founder and CEO of an investment firm, Azoria and a free high school debate league, Incubate Debate.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn the coming months, I\u2019m going to meet as many Floridians as I can, where they live, work, and pray,\u201d Fishback said of his campaign plans. \u201cI\u2019ll visit all 67 counties because Florida\u2019s next governor has to be someone you can see, talk to, and even debate with.\u201d<\/p>\n
Fishback\u2019s primary opponent is Congressman Byron Donalds.<\/p>\n
