TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Supporters of Florida A&M University can now give back by rounding up change with the FAMU Change app. <\/p>\n
The university announced the launch of the micro-donation platform on Tuesday. The app is designed to turn everyday purchases into financial support for the university.<\/p>\n
FAMU Change allows supporters to automatically round up purchases to the nearest dollar amount when using a debit or credit card. That spare change will go to support FAMU students.<\/p>\n
The university said one way these funds will be used is to support the relaunch of the \u201cLife Gets Better\u201d scholarship, which pays homage to President Emeritus Frederick S. Humphries.<\/p>\n
When spare change amounts reach $5, they are donated directly to FAMU, the university explained. <\/p>\n

According to the announcement from FAMU, just 4,000 app users could generate over $100,000 each year. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe FAMU Change app is a great way to allow your spare change to multiply into scholarships and support for the College of Love and Charity. When we come together, we do more than make change; we become the change,\u201d said Brandi Tatum-Fedrick, Ed.D., acting vice president, University Advancement and executive director, FAMU Foundation, Inc.<\/p>\n
The FAMU Change app is available for download on the App Store and Google Play.<\/p>\n
