(WCTV) – A Tallahassee man has pleaded guilty to \u201cdistribution of child pornography and receipt of child pornography,\u201d according to the U.S. Attorney\u2019s Office for the Northern District of Florida. <\/p>\n
Richard Alan Spivey, 62, faces 15 to 40 years in prison along with lifetime supervision upon release due to his prior convictions relating to sexual abuse or sexual conduct involving a minor, the attorney\u2019s office wrote in a press release Tuesday. <\/p>\n

The 62-year-old\u2019s guilty plea comes after Tallahassee Police received a Cybertip report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) in July 2024, per the release.<\/p>\n
The report alleged that Spivey \u201cuploaded child pornography to a social media platform when sending it to another user as part of his chat messages,\u201d the attorney\u2019s office said.<\/p>\n

The investigation also revealed that he was a registered sexual predator based on his prior sex crimes conviction. <\/p>\n
As a result, authorities obtained search warrants for Spivey\u2019s social media account and cell phone, with a search of the cell phone leading to the \u201cdiscovery of online between the defendant and others during which he received and distributed child pornography videos,\u201d according to the release.<\/p>\n
He\u2019s expected to be sentenced February 2.<\/p>\n
