FORT PIERCE, Fla. (CBS12) \u2014 Detectives didn\u2019t need long to find trouble at DJ Wilcox Preserve<\/a>, again.<\/p>\n

The St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office (SLCSO) announced on Tuesday that its detectives from the Special Investigations Division (SID) returned to the DJ Wilcox Preserve off Old Dixie Highway for a follow-up operation after continued reports of lewd and lascivious activity in the area.<\/p>\n

The good news? Monday’s undercover operation clearly made an impact. The sheriff’s office said that foot traffic was noticeably lighter, and those who did venture into the Preserve moved with the caution of someone scanning for both alligators and deputies.<\/p>\n

The bad news? There\u2019s always one.<\/p>\n

Within minutes of arriving, an undercover detective was approached by an older man whose zipper was already down. The Florida heat wasn\u2019t the only thing rising \u2014 the sheriff’s office said he offered a string of vague, awkward sexual innuendos before the conversation headed exactly where you think. Spoiler alert: it ended the same way it did Monday.<\/p>\n

SLCSO arrested Robert Kusher, 83, of Port St. Lucie for exposure of sexual organs.<\/p>\n

This comes just one day after two elderly men were arrested under similar circumstances. On Monday, SLCSO said its SID detectives launched an undercover operation at the Preserve following complaints of inappropriate behavior. Within minutes, Claude Higgins, 82, and Dallas Freeman, 87, allegedly exposed themselves and propositioned undercover deputies for sexual activity. Both were booked on counts of exposure of sexual organs. <\/p>\n

Once again, the sheriff’s office said romantic ambitions concluded with handcuffs and a ride to \u201cThe Rock.\u201d<\/p>\n

SLCSO told the public to consider this a recurring reminder: DJ Wilcox Preserve is for wildlife watching, not wild behavior. Choose otherwise, and your romantic detour may end up as a booking photo and a story you\u2019ll wish you didn\u2019t have to explain.<\/p>\n
