(WCTV) &#8211; Leon County is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wctv.tv\/2025\/11\/22\/burn-ban-now-effect-leon-county-local-state-emergency-declared\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.wctv.tv\/2025\/11\/22\/burn-ban-now-effect-leon-county-local-state-emergency-declared\/\">extending a temporary countywide burn ban<\/a> due to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wctv.tv\/2025\/11\/20\/exceptional-drought-develops-parts-big-bend-south-georgia\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.wctv.tv\/2025\/11\/20\/exceptional-drought-develops-parts-big-bend-south-georgia\/\">exceptional drought conditions.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The ban is now expected to last until Dec. 3., according to officials. Leon County Commission Chairman Christian Caban said in the media release that the ban is a cautionary measure. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cOut of an abundance of caution and in response to the extreme drought conditions we are facing, this temporary burn ban extension is an essential step to protect lives, homes, and property across Leon County,\u201d Caban said. \u201cWe are asking everyone to do their part by following this guidance so our first responders can best keep our community safe during these conditions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | text-center article-text\">More Tallahassee news:<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Any open burning is banned, according to Leon County.
