ORLANDO, Fla. — Organizations across Central Florida are stepping up on Thanksgiving Day to provide meals for those who may not have one.<\/p>\n
The Salvation Army is once again teaming up\u00a0with Valencia College\u2019s Culinary Arts and Hospitality program to cook thousands of meals. Volunteers started preparing meals early this morning.<\/p>\n

A total of 7,000 meals being prepared
\n
Meals divided between\u00a0Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Apopka and\u00a0\u00a0main Salvation Army campus on Colonial Drive<\/p>\n
About 4,000 meals were prepared by the volunteers and later loaded into trucks to take to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Apopka.<\/p>\n
The meals will be distributed to homeless encampments and to seniors who are home bound.<\/p>\n
A total of 7,000 meals were prepared with the remaining 3,000 to go to the main Salvation Army campus on Colonial Drive. The meals will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.<\/p>\n
The goal is to make sure that no one goes hungry on Thanksgiving.<\/p>\n
Master Chef Alex Erdmann said this is an opportunity that gives his students the best of both worlds.<\/p>\n
