Matiscik returned for an eventful and emotional second half, with he and Cooke both called for unnecessary roughness during a multiplayer altercation following a 49-yard fourth-quarter punt by Cooke.<\/p>\n
Titans safety Mike Brown, who had been called for roughing the kicker on Cooke’s first punt following Matiscik’s third-quarter return, was disqualified following the fourth-quarter altercation.<\/p>\n
“It was eventful,” Cooke said. “You play football long enough, football stuff happens.”<\/p>\n
Matiscik called Cooke “my guy,” adding “Anytime you see him in the scrum, I got his back. Saw him in the middle of it and had to intervene. I’m not going to say it’s fun, but I have his back. I just kind of ran in there trying to get my guy out of the mix. What happened happened. Not necessarily proud of it, but [Cooke]’s my guy and I have his back ’til the end.”<\/p>\n
Coen said Matiscik and Cooke on Sunday “had an edge, for sure.”<\/p>\n
