{"id":66291,"date":"2025-12-01T10:34:08","date_gmt":"2025-12-01T10:34:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/66291\/"},"modified":"2025-12-01T10:34:08","modified_gmt":"2025-12-01T10:34:08","slug":"florida-speed-boat-crashes-leaves-3-dead-and-1-critically-injured","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/66291\/","title":{"rendered":"Florida speed boat crashes leaves 3 dead and 1 critically injured"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A fatal boating accident has left three dead and one seriously injured after the vessel flipped on Florida\u2019s Gulf Coast. <\/p>\n<p>The 39-foot speedboat capsized with four people aboard at around 4 p.m. on Saturday in the Caloosahatchee River near the Cape Coral Yacht Club between Cape Coral and Fort Myers, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission\u00a0told <a href=\"https:\/\/wsvn.com\/news\/local\/florida\/3-killed-1-injured-after-boatcapsizes-on-caloosahatchee-river\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">WSVN<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>During a multi-agency search involving the Fort Myers Police Department and the US Coast Guard, three victims were recovered from the river after the deadly crash.<\/p>\n<p>The speedboat capsized with four people aboard at around 4 p.m. on Saturday in the Caloosahatchee River near the Cape Coral Yacht Club between Cape Coral and Fort Myers. Lee County Marine Emergency Response Team<\/p>\n<p>Two were pronounced dead at the scene, officials said, while the third was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition.<\/p>\n<p>The US Coast Guard recovered the fourth victim\u2019s body from the river on Sunday after an extensive search, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities have not yet identified the victims.<\/p>\n<p>Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission\u00a0public information officer Bradley Johnson told the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.naplesnews.com\/story\/news\/local\/2025\/11\/30\/second-person-dies-in-cape-coral-boat-accident-1-person-still-missing-1-in-critical-condition\/87538981007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Naples Daily News<\/a> that the boat\u2019s motors appeared to have come off the vessel during the incident.<\/p>\n<p>Officials have yet to reveal what caused the boat to capsize, but said the wind may have played a factor.<\/p>\n<p>A witness who filmed the aftermath reported seeing it racing just before it flipped.<\/p>\n<p>Two were pronounced dead at the scene, officials said, while the third was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition. Lee County Marine Emergency Response Team<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes, I just so happened to look out the window,\u201d the witness told WSVN.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI looked \u2014 those boats are racing \u2014 and then as soon as everybody looked, the boat was upside down.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The unidentified witness said he was watching from the opposite riverbank when he spotted the boat tearing past.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was going real fast for that to happen,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n<p>The witness said that the boat was \u201cup in the air\u201d for about three to four seconds before it crashed.<\/p>\n<p>Officials have yet to reveal what caused the boat to capsize. Lee County Marine Emergency Response Team<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI saw a crash, all the water was just all over the place.
