In a highly anticipated clash at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the United States Women’s National Team (USWNT) is set to take on a familiar rival under the lights. The match, part of the team’s ongoing preparation and competition, kicks off at 7:07 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on TBS and HBO Max in English, while Peacock provides the Spanish commentary. For radio listeners, Westwood One Sports will cover the action in both English and Spanish on Fútbol de Primera.

Head coach Emma Hayes, leading the USWNT with a focus on building experience, has opted for a veteran Starting XI that boasts an average of 36.6 caps, a stark contrast to the 17.3 average caps seen in a recent match against New Zealand. This marks a strategic shift as only three players in the starting lineup are entering the match with fewer than 10 international caps.

Notably, this matchup sees the inclusion of three teenagers—Jordyn Bugg (18), Lily Yohannes (18), and Claire Hutton (19)—highlighting the team’s blend of youth and experience. Hayes made five changes from the previous game against Italy, showcasing her adaptability and keen eye for talent development. Notably, this strategic mix harkens back to a significant moment in the team’s history, as it has been over two decades since such a youthful ensemble was fielded against a top-tier opponent.

The roster reflects a solid presence from the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), with 20 players coming from the league, including seven who participated in the intense 2025 NWSL Championship. Among them are notable players like Lilly Reale, Emily Sonnett, and Jaedyn Shaw, demonstrating the depth of talent the league fosters.

Claudia Dickey, starting in goal, is earning her sixth cap and has already made a mark by securing back-to-back shutouts in her last two matches, continuing to establish her presence after previously becoming the 29th goalkeeper in USWNT history to earn a cap. Her counterpart, Emily Fox, is coming off a stellar season and is vying for honors as one of the top players in the league.

Naomi Girma is making her return from injury, marking her 50th cap as she takes the field after a prolonged hiatus. Shoreing up the defense are youth stars such as Jordyn Bugg, who is on the cusp of becoming a compelling force in the backline with her remarkable goal-scoring ability for the Reign.

The offensive line features players like Cat Macario, who recently recorded a brace against Italy, and Alyssa Thompson, who is set for her 25th cap after an impressive stint at Angel City FC. Underneath it all, Lindsey Heaps leads the team as captain, celebrating her 170th cap, cementing her place among the legends of women’s soccer.

As the teams prepare to collide in front of what is expected to be an enthusiastic crowd, anticipation builds not only for the outcome of the game but also for the glimpse it offers into the future of American women’s soccer, with a balance of seasoned players and emerging talent.

In a highly anticipated clash at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the United States Women’s National Team…

[17
249,251,250
post-67508","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-fort-lauderdale","tag-fort-lauderdale","tag-fort-lauderdale-headlines","tag-fort-lauderdale-news
["GET
