LUCIE, Fla. &#8211; A Port St. Lucie Police officer was shot while investigating a disturbance, Monday evening.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>   <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/screenshot-2025-12-01-210025.png\" alt=\"\" data-v-0dea8073=\"\"\/> <\/p>\n<p data-v-0dea8073=\"\">A Port St. Lucie was reportedly shot on Dec. 1.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p original-article-post=\"\" origination_station=\"WOFL\" data-v-ec26887a=\"\" data-v-3646484b=\"\">What we know:<\/p>\n<p data-v-3646484b=\"\">The Port St. Lucie Police Department responded to an incident in the area of Tradition Parkway and Gatlin Boulevard on Dec. 1 for a disturbance, when an officer was shot while investigating the incident, the police department confirmed.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-3646484b=\"\">The officer \u2013 Sergeant Erik LeVasseur, who&#8217;s been with the department for 27 years \u2013 was transported to HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital in Fort Pierce.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-3646484b=\"\">Of the six officers who responded to the scene, LeVasseur was the only officer injured, the department said in a press conference.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p> What we know about the suspect?\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p data-v-3646484b=\"\">The suspect was killed by police fire, the department said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-3646484b=\"\">Police said the suspect was carrying an AK-47-style weapon.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p original-article-post=\"\" origination_station=\"WOFL\" data-v-ec26887a=\"\" data-v-3646484b=\"\">What we don&#8217;t know:<\/p>\n<p data-v-3646484b=\"\">It&#8217;s not known what condition the officer is currently in, though the department said it&#8217;s optimistic.
