ORLANDO, Fla. \u2013 Orange County released its annual red light camera report, revealing that 79,569 tickets were issued to drivers running red lights from July 2024 to June 2025.<\/p>\n
By the time of the report, 44,470 had been paid, and the program generated more than $9.4 million in revenue during that period.<\/p>\n
Orange County has 57 red light cameras in 35 intersections. These cameras capture drivers who run red lights and send them a $158 ticket by mail.<\/p>\n
Orange County received $5.3 million of the total revenue, while $3.5 million went to the state of Florida. Most of the county\u2019s share is used to maintain the cameras, with the remainder allocated to the public works budget for traffic-related projects.<\/p>\n

Share your photos<\/a>]<\/p>\n The goal of the program is to improve safety and reduce traffic-related deaths and serious injuries on county roads.<\/p>\n However, some drivers, like Aaron Lineberry, expressed frustration with the number of cameras.<\/p>\n \u201cI can understand why they want him. But I think that they need to be a little bit more lenient if somebody is going to a yellow light, because a lot of these lights seem like they change too quickly,\u201d he said. \u201cI think it\u2019s enough. I mean, I\u2019m a delivery person. I see a lot of them. Luckily, my GPS tells me there\u2019s a camera light up there.\u201d<\/p>\n
