\n\t\t\t\t\t\tA man accused of killing his mother after stabbing her more than 100 times made his first court appearance before a Lee County judge Friday morning on a murder charge. Rosemary Johnson was found dead in her Cape Coral home last week, suffering from more than 100 stab wounds, lacerations to her face and neck, and bruising on her neck, according to a detective’s testimony this afternoon.Two knives used in the attack were found on Jacaranda Parkway.Her son, Devin Johnson, 28, has been charged with her murder and showed no emotion in court.Collier County deputies arrested him in North Naples as he attempted to flee.Investigators say Johnson was chased down to U.S. 41 near Immokalee Road, where deputies threw stop sticks at his car. He then got out, ran, and tried to take a gun and a Taser from deputies. A K-9 was released to get him, and deputies say Johnson tried to choke the dog.Police have not disclosed a motive for the murder, and a judge has denied him bond.Investigators said Johnson had bought a ticket to Costa Rica, and he may have been trying to leave the country to escape justice.
