The district later confirmed that several students were affected.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Jones expressed frustration, saying she trusted the school with her daughter\u2019s safety. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cI feel as though I left my daughter in the hands of Stranahan high school for safety,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Other parents have voiced concerns about the school\u2019s security, calling for better measures to prevent students from accessing drugs on campus. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Diane Kohler, a grandparent, said, \u201cThey need to do a search to the kids a little bit better than what they\u2019re doing. It makes me think twice about sending her here.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Another parent, Satya Palmehmi, asked, \u201cHow are the kids behaving in the school? How do they have access to marijuana drugs in the school?\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">After consuming the gummy, Jones\u2019 daughter felt dizzy and disoriented, and was taken to the hospital. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cShe didn\u2019t know how she got there,\u201d Jones said, describing her daughter as unresponsive with an IV in her.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">While her daughter is now recovering at home, Jones was upset to learn that her daughter was placed on a ten-day suspension for being under the influence. Jones is now considering pressing charges against the student who distributed the laced gummies.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The Broward County School District has not commented, citing an ongoing investigation.
