{"id":71506,"date":"2025-12-04T20:24:08","date_gmt":"2025-12-04T20:24:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/71506\/"},"modified":"2025-12-04T20:24:08","modified_gmt":"2025-12-04T20:24:08","slug":"how-to-join-walk-to-end-alzheimers-on-saturday-in-davie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/71506\/","title":{"rendered":"How to join \u2018Walk to End Alzheimer\u2019s\u2019 on Saturday in Davie"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text text--small text--normal text--primary\">Published:\u00a0December 4, 2025 at 3:01 PM<\/p>\n<p class=\"text text--small text--normal text--primary\">Updated:\u00a0December 4, 2025 at 3:18 PM<\/p>\n<p>lead-art-block.fullscreen-enterExpand<img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" data-chromatic=\"ignore\" alt=\"\" class=\"c-image\" loading=\"eager\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/TTDL2XPLNFDR7ERYT4DL5DLIBY.JPG\"  width=\"960\" height=\"540\"\/>WPLG <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Alzheimer\u2019s disease accounts for most of the cases of dementia, a condition characterized by progressive or persistent loss of intellectual functioning. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">It has no cure, but the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alz.org\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.alz.org\/\">Alzheimer\u2019s Association<\/a> aims to change that and improve treatments that can slow down symptoms and improve quality of life. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">In support of that effort, the association\u2019s Southeast Florida Chapter is hosting the annual \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/act.alz.org\/site\/TR\/Walk2025\/FL-SoutheastFlorida?fr_id=18515&amp;pg=entry\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/act.alz.org\/site\/TR\/Walk2025\/FL-SoutheastFlorida?fr_id=18515&amp;pg=entry\">Walk to End Alzheimer\u2019s<\/a>\u201d on Saturday in Davie. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">As of Thursday afternoon, there were 317 teams registered with more than 1,540 participants. They had raised more than $384,000. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The event organizer\u2019s goal is $500,000. The official walk\u2019s T-shirt is $100, and the registration to start a team, join a team, or walk alone <a href=\"https:\/\/act.alz.org\/site\/TR?sid=23936&amp;type=fr_informational&amp;pg=informational&amp;fr_id=18515\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/act.alz.org\/site\/TR?sid=23936&amp;type=fr_informational&amp;pg=informational&amp;fr_id=18515\">can be done online<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Jason Heller, of Coastal Wealth, was the top participant with <a href=\"https:\/\/act.alz.org\/site\/TR\/Walk2025\/FL-SoutheastFlorida?pg=personal&amp;px=19592986&amp;fr_id=18515\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/act.alz.org\/site\/TR\/Walk2025\/FL-SoutheastFlorida?pg=personal&amp;px=19592986&amp;fr_id=18515\">more than $20,000<\/a>.
