Florida state Rep. Kevin Steele introduced House Bill 113<\/a>\u00a0on Tuesday,\u00a0which would require colleges and universities within the state to redesignate specified roads to reflect Charlie James Kirk.\u00a0<\/p>\n According to the bill, the University of Central Florida would be required to rename Gemini Boulevard South as Charlie James Kirk Boulevard.<\/p>\n According to UCF\u2019s traditions page, Gemini Boulevard, alongside Andromeda Loop and Apollo Circle, was intentionally named to reflect UCF\u2019s history as \u201cone of America\u2019s first space universities.\u201d<\/p>\n I’m honored to file HB 113, which renames a street at each of the 40 public institutions in Florida to Charlie James Kirk.My goal with this bill is to continue his legacy through generations of students that will attend our schools and will be faced with many differing ideas pic.twitter.com\/8VlgWTrWUl<\/a><\/p>\n \u2014 Kevin Steele (@KevinSteeleFL) October 8, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n If signed into law, the bill would provide the UCF Board of Trustees 90 days to complete the change. Any institution that fails to implement this change within the specified time frame will have its state funds withheld, the bill states.<\/p>\n
