ORLANDO, Fla. \u2013 A ballet holiday classic is bringing grand jet\u00e9s, pirouettes and acrobatics to an Orlando stage.<\/p>\n
Orlando Ballet\u2019s \u201cThe Nutcracker,\u201d presented by Orlando Health, is back at the Dr. Phillips Center. <\/p>\n
As the story goes, Clara receives a nutcracker doll on Christmas Eve and dreams about it coming to life. <\/p>\n
The dream takes her on a magical journey through the Land of Sweets with the Nutcracker Prince, where they battle the Mouse King along the way. <\/p>\n

The performance showcases Clara\u2019s courage, while also touching on the comfort in traditions and it invites the audience to see the holidays through the eyes of a child.<\/p>\n
Orlando Ballet brings the story to life by blending classical ballet with puppetry, animatronics, and immersive stage designs, along with the iconic music from composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.<\/p>\n
27 dancers will move across the stage as well as 15 Second Company dancers, 16 Trainees and 72 young dancers from Orlando Ballet School.<\/p>\n
Some show dates even include pre-show activities like crafts, Nutcracker story time, dance classes, face painting and themed photo opportunities. <\/p>\n
