Texas volleyball<\/a>, with its first No. 1 seed<\/a> in three years, begins what coach Jerritt Elliott<\/a>\u00a0hopes is a three-week journey through the NCAA Tournament and a third national championship in the past four years on Friday.<\/p>\n

The tournament for Texas (23-3) starts with a first-round match against Florida A&M at 7 p.m. at Gregory Gymnasium in Austin. The match could begin sooner or later, depending on how the first match in the Austin Quadrant between Penn State and South Florida plays out.<\/p>\n

The two winners from Friday\u2019s matches will meet Saturday at 6:30 p.m. in Gregory Gymnasium to determine a spot in next week’s Sweet 16.<\/p>\n

Florida A&M (14-16)\u00a0is making an NCAA Tournament appearance for the fourth time in the last five years after a surprising run to the SWAC Tournament title.<\/p>\n
