{"id":73621,"date":"2025-12-06T15:06:07","date_gmt":"2025-12-06T15:06:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/73621\/"},"modified":"2025-12-06T15:06:07","modified_gmt":"2025-12-06T15:06:07","slug":"hundreds-join-walk-to-end-alzheimers-in-davie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/73621\/","title":{"rendered":"Hundreds join \u2018Walk to End Alzheimer\u2019s\u2019 in Davie"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text text--small text--normal text--primary\">Published:\u00a0December 6, 2025 at 9:46 AM<\/p>\n<p class=\"text text--small text--normal text--primary\">Updated:\u00a0December 6, 2025 at 10:04 AM<\/p>\n<p>Hundreds join Walk to end Alzheimer&#8217;s in Davie  <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">DAVIE, Fla.  \u2014 Alzheimer\u2019s disease accounts for most of the cases of dementia, a condition characterized by progressive or persistent loss of intellectual functioning. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">It has no cure, but the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alz.org\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.alz.org\/\">Alzheimer\u2019s Association<\/a> aims to change that and improve treatments that can slow down symptoms and improve quality of life. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">In support of that effort, the association\u2019s Southeast Florida Chapter hosted the annual \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/act.alz.org\/site\/TR\/Walk2025\/FL-SoutheastFlorida?fr_id=18515&amp;pg=entry\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/act.alz.org\/site\/TR\/Walk2025\/FL-SoutheastFlorida?fr_id=18515&amp;pg=entry\">Walk to End Alzheimer\u2019s<\/a>\u201d on Saturday morning at the Nova Southeastern University, at 3100 Ray Ferrero Jr., in Davie. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Angie Rosario, a Pompano Beach firefighter, said her father was diagnosed about seven years ago. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cI am here to honor him,\u201d Rosario said. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">There were nearly 1,935 participants in over 320 teams who had raised more than $404,000 when the walk started.
