The mother of a Hialeah man who went missing and was later found dead spoke about the crime after one of the suspects turned herself in to police in Mexico<\/a> after more than a month on the run.<\/p>\n

Daylon Fleitas, 37, disappeared in early August<\/a>, the same day authorities said he met with one of the suspects, 32-year-old Alfredo Carballo Gonzalez, in the area of 95th Avenue and Northwest 106th Street.<\/p>\n

Carballo Gonzalez was seen entering Fleitas Gonzalez’s truck, where an altercation took place, investigators said. Shortly after, Carballo Gonzalez placed a recycling bin in the bed of the Fleitas’ truck and drove it away, with the second suspect, 27-year-old Ariely Alvarez Cabrera, following him in another vehicle.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tAuthorities are searching for a man and a woman wanted in the killing of a man who went missing from Hialeah more than a week ago, and they say the suspects may be traveling with a baby. The victim, 37-year-old Daylon Fleitas, was last seen on Aug. 3 in Hialeah and was reported missing the next day.\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n

Days later, detectives found Fleitas’ truck along with “multiple items of evidentiary value,” the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office said. Detectives searched the area nearby and found the recycling bin with Fleitas’ body inside.<\/p>\n

On Monday, after more than a month at large<\/a>, Alvarez Cabrera surrendered to police in Mexico. She was extradited to Broward County, and will eventually face a judge in Miami-Dade.<\/p>\n

Maria del Carmen, the mother of the victim, spoke to our sister station Telemundo 51 in Spanish from the doorway of her home on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

When asked if she felt any consolation in the fact that one of the suspects was behind bars, she firmly said no.<\/p>\n

“We are still not complete, because [Carballo Gonzalez] is still loose on the street, and like they did to me, they could harm someone else,” she said. “We want justice, God’s justice, which always comes.”<\/p>\n

She said Fleitas and the suspect knew each other, that they were from the same town in Cuba and that Carballo Gonzalez had “access to the whole family.”<\/p>\n

She said she believes the argument was over money that her son had lent the suspect. <\/p>\n

“My son had lent him some money, done him a favor, and he went to charge him,” she said. “This happened to him because he lent him money.”<\/p>\n

The grieving mother said she was a Christian and was praying for the suspects’ 6-month-old baby, who was also missing when the suspects took off. <\/a><\/p>\n

“May God have mercy… He’s just a little baby. It’s not his fault that he has the parents he has,” she said.<\/p>\n

The child has since been found safe, and is now in Florida, authorities said. <\/p>\n
