For Inter Miami CF<\/a> stars Jordi Alba<\/a> and Sergio Busquets<\/a>, who announced their retirement before the Audi 2025 MLS Cup Playoffs, that dream was realized on Saturday afternoon.<\/p>\n The Herons bested Vancouver Whitecaps FC<\/a>, 3-1<\/a>, in MLS Cup 2025 presented by Audi in front of a raucous Chase Stadium crowd. The win sends two of the sport\u2019s greatest off on the highest note possible.<\/p>\n \u201cThey could\u2019ve easily continued because they\u2019re playing at an incredible level,\u201d head coach Javier Mascherano told Apple TV post-match. \u201cBut they were well thought-out decisions, and what better way to go out than like this?<\/p>\n \u201cTheir careers deserved nothing less than to go out as champions. However, the Philip F. Anschutz Trophy remained elusive.<\/p>\n After Saturday\u2019s triumph, the Spain and Bar\u00e7a legends can hang up their boots knowing they\u2019ve helped bring the club MLS\u2019s most coveted piece of silverware.<\/p>\n “I\u2019ve made all my dreams come true and beyond, more than I ever dreamed of,” Alba said. “I\u2019m happy. It was an excellent career. I can\u2019t complain. Obviously some things could\u2019ve gone better, but I\u2019m proud of everything I achieved.”<\/p>\n
