A Cape Coral man is facing a 2nd degree murder charge in both Lee County and Collier County on Friday. He remains held without bond until his pre-trial detention hearing scheduled for 1:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

Devin Johnson is accused of stabbing his mother to death on Sept. 15.<\/p>\n

Johnson was booked into the Lee County Jail on Thursday. He was brought back to Lee County after being arrested in Collier County on the same day as the murder.<\/p>\n

In Lee County, a judge signed an arrest warrant for second-degree murder, citing probable cause.<\/p>\n

A police pursuit in Collier County led to Johnson’s arrest. During the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, Johnson is accused of assaulting a police officer and a K-9 and attempting to steal a deputy’s gun. He is also facing related charges in that county<\/p>\n

In Collier County, Johnson is charged with driving with a suspended license, with the state requesting a $10,000 bond. He also faces charges of fleeing and eluding with lights and sirens, with the state requesting a $100,000 bond due to battery on law enforcement and animal abuse.<\/p>\n

All bond discussions will take place at the 1:30 p.m. hearing.<\/p>\n

Johnson qualified for a public defender in Collier County and is likely to be approved for one in Lee County as well.<\/p>\n
