The Florida State Seminoles<\/a> ended up signing four edge rushers during the early signing period on Wednesday, highlighted by four-star Jalen Anderson. One of them came at the end of the day in the form of three-star recruit Cam Brooks.<\/p>\n

The 6-foot-2.5, 225-pounder had 35 offers and was once committed to the California Bears. However, it was FSU that was at the top of his recruiting list at the start of his journey, and he’s grateful to be where he always wanted to be.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been a blessing. That\u2019s the first thing I can say,\u201d Brooks said via Warchant<\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s been a huge blessing, because who would\u2019ve thought Florida State, first off? Last week, I decommitted from Cal \u2026 didn\u2019t know what to expect because I was committed to them for so long. Lost contact with a lot of coaches. \u2026<\/p>\n

\u201cThis was the dream school before my recruitment started. This was my dream school. They just weren\u2019t really recruiting me. Then 360 (degrees), now I\u2019m going here.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brooks is the 602 overall recruit and the nation’s No. 61 edge per the 247Sports composite rankings. They also have him listed as the No. 68 prospect out of the state of Georgia.<\/p>\n

Brooks had been on Florida State’s radar since January of 2023, and he took a plethora of trips to Tallahassee through 2024. However, he only took one trip this year, which speaks to why he felt the Seminoles weren’t fully interested in him before his previous commitment.<\/p>\n

FSU began to pick the pace back up in regards to Brooks once the early signing period was on the horizon. Defensive coordinator Tony White got the lines of communication back on track via text, and then head coach Mike Norvell sealed the deal.<\/p>\n

\u201cI got on the phone with Coach Norvell, and it happened \u2026,\u201d said Brooks. \u201cFor him just for calling me, letting me know that he was going to make my dream come true, that was all a blessing.\u201d<\/p>\n

With Brooks, four-star Jaemin Pinckney, three-star Chris Carbin, and the aforementioned Anderson singed, Florida State has some potential contributors for the future at edge rusher, and hopefully a few can rise to the occasion in 2026.<\/p>\n
