TALLAHASSEE, Fla. \u2013 Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed an executive order on Monday, newly designating two groups as foreign terrorist organizations (FTOs).<\/p>\n
To start with, the order expressly labels the Society of Muslim Brothers (i.e. \u201cMuslim Brotherhood\u201d) as an FTO, pointing to the group\u2019s \u201clong history\u201d of supporting violence, including political assassinations and civilian terror attacks.<\/p>\n
The order also references the Muslim Brotherhood\u2019s creation of Hamas, which was labelled a FTO by the United States in 1997.
