Jacksonville councilman alleges fraud, conflicts in city\u2019s telehealth contracts<\/a><\/p>\n\u201cThere are 3,000 pages or so, at least,\u201d Diamond said during the meeting. \u201cI put eyes on all of them\u2026 I don\u2019t expect [other members] to have gone through them substantively, so I don\u2019t expect [a report] back for several weeks.\u201d<\/p>\n
Council President Ron Salem said he has already logged about 15 hours reviewing documents.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ll be spending a fair amount of the holiday going through these things,\u201d Salem said. \u201cHopefully, when we come back after the break, I\u2019ve been through them and got all the questions answered so we can begin moving forward.\u201d<\/p>\n
City Councilmember Matt Carlucci has publicly criticized Diamond\u2019s claims, saying, \u201cDiamond\u2019s allegations are always like a tempest in a teapot.\u201d Carlucci said he believes the accusations are likely unfounded and politically motivated.<\/p>\n
Mayor Donna Deegan\u2019s office and Telescope Health have also strongly denied any misconduct.<\/p>\n
Diamond confirmed he did not take his concerns to the State Attorney\u2019s Office or the Inspector General before posting them publicly. He said it is his responsibility as a council member to ask questions on behalf of taxpayers.<\/p>\n
The DOGE subcommittee does not expect to finish reviewing all documents until after the Christmas and New Year\u2019s holidays.<\/p>\n
