FSU\u2019s newest campus celebrity<\/a> has been a fan-favorite, but why wouldn\u2019t he be? S\u2019mores is a tiny Nigerian Dwarf goat that\u2019s made numerous appearances around Florida State and other college campuses; I think he can be deemed an official superstar. If you ever walk around Landis Green or Doak Campbell Stadium on a game day, you\u2019re sure to see tons of people crowded around S\u2019mores to take a photo or give a quick pet.\u00a0<\/p>\n This tiny goat has a wonderful way of slowing everything down for a minute. Students will stop mid-walk just to watch him trot by, hooves clicking on the pavement. There\u2019s a cheeriness in his calm confidence, like he\u2019s telling everyone that \u201cit\u2019s okay to take a break\u201d and \u201cenjoy the good for a minute.\u201d <\/p>\n It\u2019s quite adorable watching a goat live his best life in an FSU jersey while you\u2019re making a to-do list of all the assignments you need to get done, but he brings a sense of whimsy to our campus as a whole.\u00a0<\/p>\n S\u2019mores\u2019 owner<\/a>, Cole Verdonck, originally brought him around campus for fun, but the minute students laid eyes on this adorable fluff ball, everything changed. Photos were shared everywhere, TikToks were made, and even sororities on campus have interacted! Now, S\u2019mores is recognized on campus faster than your classes fill up on registration day.\u00a0<\/p>\n S\u2019mores is one of the cutest goats I\u2019ve ever seen. He looks like he walked straight out of a Pinterest board! He walks around campus, accompanied by Verdonck, with ears perked and eager eyes ready to greet anyone who stops to say hi (and people do stop). \u201cS\u2019mores sightings\u201d have become major; someone will spot him on Legacy Walk, and within five minutes, there\u2019s a crowd of people lining up for photos or a sweet boop on his nose.\u00a0<\/p>\n He has a talent for instant stress relief, too. Final exams? Canceled. Drama? What drama? The stress instantly melts the second you see him. Though he\u2019s not an \u201cofficial\u201d therapy goat, students around campus post him all over social media, demonstrating how a quick interaction with S\u2019mores brightened their day.<\/p>\n S\u2019mores now has his own Instagram account<\/a>, created and managed by Verdonck. It shares his adventures around our beautiful campus, and you can go view his interactions with the FSU community and beyond! At this point, he may have more of a social life than most of us\u2026<\/p>\n Verdonck strives to give S\u2019mores the best life possible. He takes S\u2019mores on long walks or runs throughout campus and Cascades Park, and he\u2019s even participated in goat yoga on Landis Green<\/a>. Verdonck also takes S\u2019mores to a goat farm to ensure he can interact with others of his own kind. He\u2019s truly showing this goat the world, and wants to continue to do so outside of FSU life.\u00a0<\/p>\n S\u2019mores has quickly become more than just a goat that showed up on campus one day. He\u2019s become a sort of symbol of joy, helping students relieve stress and also the FSU community, bringing all of us together. Students are sure to rally around him to share these small moments, which makes our large campus feel just a little bit more tight-knit.<\/p>\n So, if you see a tiny, adorable goat prancing around campus, don\u2019t fret. Take a well-deserved break, go say a quick hello, and enjoy a bit of sweetness.
