TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – One person was hospitalized and a cat was rescued early Wednesday morning after an Apalachee Parkway home caught fire, according to the Tallahassee Fire Department.<\/p>\n
The incident unfolded just before 1:30 a.m. after firefighters were dispatched to a structure fire on Apalachee Parkway, the fire department wrote in a press release Wednesday morning. <\/p>\n
Crews arrived on scene to find heavy flames coming from a two-story home, which firefighters said was occupied at the time.<\/p>\n
Firefighters then entered the home and located a fire in the second-story living room, the press release wrote.<\/p>\n

\u201cA quick interior attack brought the flames under control in about 10 seconds, with full extinguishment achieved within 15 minutes,\u201d TFD said.<\/p>\n
Firefighters completed a search of the home and confirmed that all occupants were out. Crews also rescued a cat from the home during the incident, per the press release.<\/p>\n
However, a tenant was transported to a hospital for smoke inhalation, the fire department said.<\/p>\n
The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental, according to TFD.<\/p>\n
