TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – We\u2019re into the dog days of the high school football season as week 10 is upon us. The game of the week brings us to Boot Hill for the annual battle between Madison County and Florida High.<\/p>\n
If you go by their record, the home team Cowboys have struggled at 2-5, but in reality, Madison County has played some of the toughest teams in the region… The team lost to Raines, ranked top 25 in the state, by just 13 points last week.<\/p>\n
The Seminoles have won the last three meetings, but over the last 10 it\u2019s been an even rivalry with the Cowboys holding a 6-4 edge.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s been a rivalry here for a long time and you know, we want to go in there and beat them they want to come beat us. Jarrod [Hickman] does a great job over there at Florida High. Those guys play really hard,\u201d said Madison County head coach Price Harris. \u201cIt\u2019s a good test for us, we\u2019re going to see where we\u2019re at, I mean every week has been a test for us this year. We\u2019re excited about the opportunity to get out there and play them maybe give them what we got.\u201d<\/p>\n
The visiting Seminoles are coming off a one point loss against Gadsden county, a game they led by two scores. <\/p>\n
Florida High has had a tough time staying healthy this year. Coach Hickman pinpointed QB Cannon Cowhey and two-way star Teagan Hackett as two injuries that have been tough to overcome.<\/p>\n
The Seminoles and Cowboys enter this game both feeling like their records should be better.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou can\u2019t look at the record they\u2019ve had based on the people they\u2019ve played,\u201d sad Hickman about Madison County. \u201cI feel liked we\u2019re a little bit in the same boat. It\u2019s two good football teams that I think you could put against anybody in the state, especially when we\u2019re both healthy. They\u2019re a physical football team, they play hard and again, that\u2019s not an easy place to go play and win.\u201d<\/p>\n
