Hialeah\u2019s beloved Charlie\u2019s Ice Cream shop will soon open at a second location at 2475 SW 97th Avenue in the Westchester neighborhood of Miami, next door to Sedanos.<\/p>\n

Founder and owner Charlie Sauer, 34, a Miami-Dade County native, is excited about the second shop and so are his customers.<\/p>\n

\u201cSoft serve ice cream probably accounts for 70 percent of our sales, but we also offer hard ice cream in 14 flavors, including a monthly special flavor. For example, pumpkin during this time of year,\u201d he says.\u00a0<\/p>\n

When asked what his most popular flavors are, he chuckles and says \u201cvanilla and cookies and cream, although people are currently going crazy about peppermint bark, a mix of peppermint ice cream with chocolate flakes. We also serve eggnog ice cream during the holidays.\u201d<\/p>\n

And the number one topping?<\/p>\n

\u201cSprinkles, by far,\u201d says Charlie.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Charlie opened the original shop in Hialeah in 2015 and it\u2019s flourished ever since. His natural business sense and hard work ethic have served him well, according to Carlos Lopez, a regular customer.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cMy family loves everything about the place\u2026the ice cream, the employees, just all of it,\u201d he says.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Although Charlie\u2019s is open every day from noon to 11 p.m., the busy time is night is from 7-11 p.m. Sunday is the busiest day. There are daily specials, year-round.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

When asked whether there will be a third Charlie\u2019s, what would you expect the answer to be?<\/p>\n

\u201cOf course there will,\u201d he says. \u201cI\u2019d say that I\u2019m a good example of the American dream\u2026I\u2019m doing what comes naturally to me and I\u2019m making customers happy.\u201d<\/p>\n
