(WCTV) &#8211; Former prosecutor, FDLE legal advisor and Leon County Judge Jason L. Jones is returning to his first courtroom in Jefferson County, this time as a circuit judge, according to a press release.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Governor Ron DeSantis appointed Jones on July 10, 2025, as a Jefferson County Circuit Judge, per the news release.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Jones is no stranger to Jefferson County courtrooms, as starting in 2004, he spent three and a half years as an assistant state attorney and then chief state attorney in Jefferson Co.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | text-center article-text\">More news out of the Big Bend:<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Jones then served in the Gadsden and Leon County State Attorney\u2019s Offices and later was an FDLE legal advisor turned General Counsel.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Jones said this is a full-circle moment for him.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cTwenty-one years ago, I started my legal career in Jefferson County.
